Edward A. Gibson

A New York native Ed grew up in the lower Hudson Valley area. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from SUNY College of Technology in Utica in 1987. After holding various positions in the insurance business for several years, Ed earned his law degree from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 1995.

Ed has almost 30 years of experience as a practicing attorney specializing in personal injury law. He began his legal career in the litigation practice group of the Watertown, NY firm of Conboy, McKay, Bachman & Kendall. In 2000, the firm’s former senior litigation partner selected Ed to join him in the staff counsel organization of Travelers Insurance Company. Working out of the Albany, NY office, Ed defended a wide range of personal injury claims in courts from White Plains north to Plattsburg and from Albany west to Syracuse. After several years serving as Senior Trial Attorney, Ed was recruited to take an in-house counsel personal injury litigation management position with AIG Insurance Group. Assigned to their Atlanta, GA based claims office, he was responsible for managing litigation involving complex, high-value personal injury litigation nationwide.

After returning home to New York in 2019 Ed handled litigation out of the Syracuse office of a large plaintiff’s personal injury firm and then served as Special Counsel to the national law firm Goldberg Segalla from their Syracuse office. Ed has also held senior level positions directly managing serious personal injury claims for several major insurance companies.

Over the course of his career, Ed has tried dozens of cases in courthouses across New York State and has prepared and argued appeals in all New York appellate courts. In addition to his courtroom presence and trial skills, Ed’s years of experience working with and for insurance companies gives him a unique perspective and inside knowledge of the claims industry which he uses to his client’s advantage while seeking justice and compensation for those who have been injured.
